Wishlist Wednesday is weekly event hosted by Dani at Pen to Paper. The aim of this event is to post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it’s entirely up to you), that we can’t wait to get off the wishlist and onto our bookshelves.
I have LOADS of books on my wishlist at the moment so it was a tough choice, but here’s one of them:
Sign Language by Amy Ackley
Synopsis:
Twelve-year-old Abby North’s first hint that something is really wrong with her dad is how long it’s taking him to recover from what she thought was routine surgery. Soon, the thing she calls “It” has a real name: cancer. Before, her biggest concerns were her annoying brother, the crush unaware of her existence, and her changing feelings for her best friend, Spence, the boy across the street. Now, her mother cries in the shower, her father is exhausted, and nothing is normal anymore. Amy Ackley’s impressive debut is wrenching, heartbreaking, and utterly true.
I know it isn’t going to be an uplifting story but I find books like this absolutely fascinating. I’m literally dying to get a copy and read this!!! So if you don’t know what to give me for Christmas, ahem…. *hint hint* (just kidding) Anyway, is there anyone who already read this book? How did you like it?
What’s on your wishlist? Feel free to leave a comment below.

I'm a cancer survivor. My wish is that someday cancer will be as curable and preventable as polio or tuberculosis.

Sorry, I guess the question is what 'book' is on your wishlist. In that context, I really want to read The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

Oh wow, that book sounds amazing. Might put it on my to-read list on goodreads. By the way, your blog is really cool. Will be following you. Errr, in a non-stalker way that is! Haha
Wow, I think this novel would break my heart! It sounds wonderful though!

Sounds good– I usually avoid these kind of stories but like them when I do read them. One of my co-bloggers posted about an uplifting Aussie cancer survivor memoir, Salvation Creek, that you might enjoy.
