Waiting on Wednesday #13

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

My pick for this week:

Cover of Size 12 and Ready to Rock by Meg CabotSize 12 and Ready to Rock by Meg Cabot

Former pop star Heather Wells has settled nicely into her new life as assistant dorm director at New York College—a career that does not require her to drape her size 12 body in embarrassingly skimpy outfits. She can even cope (sort of) with her rocker ex-boyfriend’s upcoming nuptials, which the press has dubbed The Celebrity Wedding of the Decade. But she’s definitely having a hard time dealing with the situation in the dormitory kitchen—where a cheerleader has lost her head on the first day of the semester. (Actually, her head is accounted for—it’s her torso that’s AWOL.)

Surrounded by hysterical students—with her ex-con father on her doorstep and her ex-love bombarding her with unwanted phone calls—Heather welcomes the opportunity to play detective . . . again. If it gets her mind off her personal problems—and teams her up again with the gorgeous P.I. who owns the brownstone where she lives—it’s all good. But the murder trail is leading the average-sized amateur investigator into a shadowy world. And if she doesn’t watch her step, Heather will soon be singing her swan song!

Why I can’t wait:
Well, mainly because I love Meg Cabot’s books. I’ve read the entire Princess Diaries series when I was younger but the Heather Wells books were my all time favourites. Heather is HILARIOUS and it’s full of suspense, mystery and humour. What’s not to love?

What are you waiting on this week? Make sure to leave me a link below! :)

Oh, I’m sorry you didn’t like her book Jay :( Which one did you read? It’s funny because I have a friend who had the same issue. And I’ve heard good and bad things about her books equally, so who knows? I’ve seen many people hating her new books too :(

I don’t know, I actually do like this series. I’m not sure I’d enjoy the paranormal-ish ones, though.

  13. Maria says:

I’ve never a book by Meg Cabot (but I did watch the movies made on her Princess books) but this one sounds absolutely fabulous! I love when the heroine of a book is not model thin….adding this book to my buy list.
