Showcase Sunday #8

Hello and welcome to Showcase Sunday. Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and the Story Siren, the aim of Showcase Sunday is to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week. For more information about how this feature works and how to join in, click here.

This week’s books:

Bereft by Chris Womersley (for review)
The Mistress’s Revenge by Tamar Cohen (for review)
Dead Men and Broken Hearts by Craig Russell (won)
The Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie (purchased)
Saving June by Hannah Harrington (won)

Huzzah, huzzah!  I had such a great week book-wise, I still can’t believe it. As always, the Agatha Christie book is for the book club and I’ve been waiting for this one for about two weeks.. I don’t know what’s going on with TBD again. Anyway… :)

I won two fantastic books this week which is insane! Mira Ink had this Facebook competition the other day where they offered 5 copies of Saving June to 5 lucky winners and I was one of them! I actually read this book at the end of last year (I think) when the uncorrected proof copy was available on NetGalley but I can’t wait to re-read it now that it’s out in paperback, with a lovely new cover! The other book I won was Dead Men and Broken Hearts, which is apparently the 4th book in this series. I won this from Quercus on Twitter and they sent me a copy of Bereft with my prize – it was a complete surprise. :) So thank you Mira Ink and Quercus!!

And last but not least, The Mistress’s Revenge with this stunning cover is a review copy from the lovely people at Transworld. I’ll have a UK giveaway for this book as soon as I finish reading it so stay tuned if you’d like to win a copy :)

So that’s it, folks! What did you get this week? Make sure to leave a link to your own Showcase Sunday post in the linky below -  leave a comment after linking up and I’ll visit you back asap! x

You’re really a great fan of Agatha Christie!

I only read one of her short stories, The Perfect Maid, when I was studying mystery stories in elementary school :)

    Saving June looks good!

Once again I’m not able to participate – didn’t have time even to schedule a post, ugh all this studying sucks. Okay, The Mistress’s Revenge looks so perfect – I’m such a cover w*o*e. -.- I have Saving June on my TBR and I think I actually remember your review from December? :D I think. Anyway it seems like a really great book and all the others too. Glad to see you got so many this week! Happy reading ta-dah!

      Good luck with studying!! x

Ah, I got SAVING JUNE a few weeks ago. I still have to read it, though, and mine isn’t a physical copy, unfortunately. :( Not living in America has its cons…

Haven’t heard of the others, but enjoy your reads!

I really need to read an Agatha Christie book. Everybody always talks about them. Lots of great books this week :)

  10. Saving June was absolutely wonderful! It’s one of my all-time favorite contemporaries. I used to be a huge fan of Agatha Christie, but I read most of her books while in high school. I’ll probably reread them at some point, though.
