Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and the Story Siren, the aim of Showcase Sunday is to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week. Good morning, good morning! I’m having a bit of a déjà vu moment while I’m writing this. When my previous Showcase Sunday post went live on the blog last weekend I was on my way home from the Amsterdam blogger meetup, and just like then, by the time you read this I’ll be taking to the air once again heading to London. Talk about a busy schedule! However, unlike last week, I’ve lots of goodies to show you today!
With the exception of The Thirteenth Tale which I received from Orion for review, all of these are from Amsterdam. I was actually doing pretty good on the ‘not buying too many books’ front, mainly because books were a lot more expensive in the Netherlands than in the UK, for example. And since I’m heading to London anyway, why would I buy them when I can get them at a cheaper price? The only thing I couldn’t resist was this Penguin mug which I saw in Waterstones.
But then we found an English bookshop which sells LOTS (and by that I mean an insane amount) of crime novels for €4 or €5 each. And this is when my resolve started to weaken and I ended up buying two Agatha Christie books and Chris Carter’s The Crucifix Killer. Oh well.
The other three books were book swaps from Kat and Celine. Thanks, girls!
What books did you buy or receive this week? Make sure to link up your own Showcase Sunday posts below and/or leave a comment so that I can visit you back. Have a great Sunday everyone and see you soon!
