Showcase Sunday #29 – The One With Winter Wonderland

Welcome to Showcase Sunday! Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and the Story Siren, the aim of Showcase Sunday is to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week. For more information about how this feature works and how to join in, click here.

Hello amigos – how are you on this cold winter morning? How was your week? I’ve had another crazy week at uni (including staying up until 3 a.m to finish reading a book for class, writing a 2000-word essay the night before the actual deadline and other equally ‘pleasant’ things) so this weekend was all about sleeping, sleeping and even more sleeping. The good news is that we only have two more weeks left from this term – thank goodness! The bad news is, however, that I still won’t have much time for reading for fun, since endterms are coming up and my exams start in January. Boo! I don’t think I’ll take a blogging break but I won’t be able to read more or post more reviews than I did in the past few weeks. :(

In other news, I did get something nice this week! After realizing that a) I’ve waaaay more books than my hectic schedule allows me to read and b) my to-be-reviewed pile is insane I’m sort of on a book buying/requesting ban again. BUT! Hodder & Stoughton and Belinda Jones had this fun competition on Facebook a few weeks ago where you had to submit a question for Belinda and she picked the 10 best/most fun/creative ones who won the goody bag above. And I was one of the lucky winners! I’m SO excited about Winter Wonderland since I’ve head lots of great things about it. And I LOVE cookie cutters. Just love them. I know what I’ll be doing next weekend 😉 Thank you Belinda (and Hodder)!

Also, if you’re looking for some nice Christmassy books, check out the new ‘Books for Christmas‘ feature above – I update it daily and there are quite a lot of freebies as well. (Just scroll all the way down to the bottom)

How was your week? What did you guys get? Make sure to leave a link to your own Showcase Sunday post in the linky below and feel free to leave a comment after linking up and I’ll visit you back asap! Lots of love x

I’ll try :) I’m trying to keep in mind that I only have a few months left and then I’m free. And the first term is almost over, so I’m halfway there already.

Thanks Sally! I’m on my way to check out your book haul now. x

Oh I adore your cookie cutters Vicky you can bake and read this fab book at the same time! I went into the Disney store the other day and they had these adorable Mickey Mouse cookie cutters I couldn’t resist as they come with a cookie making mix too! I only have one week of work to go and then I can snuggle away from the cold weather! Hope you get the chance to rest soon! Good luck with all your work! :)

Just keep thinking ahead to the end of term! Hopefully you can take a nice break and catch up on your reading then…
And that win from Belinda Jones is so cute…it would encourage me to do some festive baking! :-)
Hopefully this week will be a little calmer for you.
