The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
Oh dear. To say that I had a busy week would be the understatement of the year. I had a terribly hectic week at uni and my weekend has been equally crazy – but then the postman came and… wow. I was just saying on Twitter yesterday that I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. I’m pretty much used to getting/buying one or two books each week or every two weeks so when an entire box of books showed up at my flat yesterday, my jaw literally hit the floor. A mahoosive thank you goes to the lovely people at Quercus who sent me most of these goodies – I’m still speechless! And can I just say how gorgeous Once More With Feeling‘s cover is? I don’t think you can see it in the photo but it’s sparkly and very wintery – I love it!
I also got a signed paperback copy of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time from Random House which I’m pretty excited about. One of our lecturers has quoted from this book during his lecture a few years ago and I’ve been meaning to read this ever since.
Thank you so much to Quercus, Avon, Random House, and Simon & Schuster for all these lovely books!
Incoming eBooks
Up Close by Henriette Gyland
Hysteria by Megan Miranda
I absolutely loved Megan Miranda’s previous book (Fracture) so when I saw that Hysteria is available on NetGalley I just had to request a copy. Judging by the synopsis I’m pretty sure it’s going to be just as good as Fracture was so can’t wait to read it!
In other news, there won’t be any Showcase Sunday on Books, Biscuits, and Tea next week because I’m going up to London for a few days and I’m not taking my laptop with me. We’re going to see Greg Davies live at the Apollo so I’m leaving on Saturday and won’t be back until Tuesday noon-ish. We’ve planned a bit of book shopping as well so I’m sure I’ll have lots of goodies to show you in two weeks’ time!
I hope you had a great week and a nice weekend! If you’ve done a Showcase Sunday post this week, make sure to link up below and feel free to leave me some comment love as well. See you all soon and thanks for stopping by. ![]()
