Wicked Winter Read-a-thon updates and wrap up

Although the Wicked Winter Read-a-thon is still going strong for another 6 or 7 hours, this is where it ends for me. :-( I’m going back to uni tomorrow so I have to get up super early (well… early for me anyway).

I read 400 pages during the read-a-thon which is I think pretty good, considering the fact that I was working on a blog design, did a uni assignment and wrote two reviews in the meantime. I had a lot of fun and enjoyed all the mini-challenges too! Thank you so much to Bex and April for hosting this event again! :)

Also, my review for Fracture is going up tomorrow so keep an eye on my blog if it’s on your wishlist. 😉 Have a good night everyone! xxx

Challenge & Giveaway: Welcome into the Unknown [Wicked Winter Read-a-thon]

Hello and welcome to the third mini-challenge of the Wicked Winter Readathon.

Until 12 a.m EST each WWReadathon participant has a chance to compete and win some amazing prizes! One lucky winner gets to choose from one of the ebooks listed below. The contest is of course open internationally

Remember that to be eligible to win the challenge you must be signed up to participate in the read-a-thon HERE (Sign Up ends Saturday, Feb. 4) and you have to cComplete the following task and leave a link to your blog post in the comments below, before 12 a.m EST.

I wanted to make this challenge fun and … well, a little bit different and easy, considering the fact that it’s the last challenge for today. And since I always like to meet new bloggers and get to know them and their habits, I had an idea. So, my challenge is:

Everyone has their own reading habits and their own reading space. What is yours like?

Take a photo of your reading space/corner, the place where you’re blogging from right now – and make it fun! Showcase the books you chose for the read-a-thon, the snacks you bought for this event, your pets who sleep next to you while you read, etc. Feel free to tell us a few words about why you chose this place for reading or about your reading habits so that we can get to know each other a little bit better. :)

The winner will be selected at the end of the challenge by Random.org. And what do you win?
The winner gets to choose one of the ebooks listed below.

Good luck everyone and I’m really looking forward to seeing your entries! :)

Here’s two photos from me:

This is the place I do most of my reading from right now – my bed. It’s frrrrreezing cold out there so I’m curled up under the blanket with my Kindle and my kitty. She usually sleeps right next to me while I read so I have to hold her with one hand and hold my Kindle with the other, ha! :) One of my habits – when it comes to reading – is that I literally can’t read/concentrate until I have a hot cup of tea or hot chocolate and some snacks in hand. Seriously. I think I’ll probably die in tea overdose in 10 years, if I keep this up. As for my current read, I’m reading Fracture by Megan Miranda at the moment and it’s just… WOW! I know most of you have already read it but I’ve only just started and I’m in love with it already. If I manage to finish it tomorrow then my next read is going to be (see the picture) Tempest by Julie Cross.

Update: Thank you for your entries guys, I love them! :) Our friend (Random.org) has just picked a winner who iiiiiiiiis *drumroll* Kai from Fiction State of Mind. Congratulations Kai! I emailed you.

Make sure to visit the next mini-challenge:

It’ll be a great way for me to catch up with my review books before uni starts on Monday as wall as have some fun!

For more information about the readathon and how you can sign up (yes, sign up is still open), click here and read this post. :)

I’m going to host a mini-challenge and giveaway tomorrow morning (or 12AM EST) so make sure to stop by and check it out, it’s gonna be fun! In the meantime, you’ll see my read-a-thon progress on the right sidebar. And as always, you can catch us on Twitter by using the #WWReadathon hashtag – it’s a fab way to meet new bloggers and believe me, you won’t regret joining us!

Oh and I almost forgot: the books I’m aiming to read this weekend

I’m only aiming to read these two because -as you know- I’m a slow reader and I’m working on a blog design in the meantime as well. Anyway, I hope I’ll be able to finish at least one of these and I hope to see you guys around. And please say hello if you happen to stop by, I love meeting new bloggers! *hugs*

Update: Picture Puzzle Challenge by Michelle @ Book Briefs

Michelle is hosting the last challenge for today which is my all time favourite! How does this work? First you pick a book. Then you find pictures to represent the words in the book title. Then you put the pictures/clues together and try to guess what the book title is.  Get creative and make it as challenging as you want. Make a post with your Book picture puzzles and go around to different blogs and try to guess some of the puzzles.

My entry:

Easy peasy! :) What’s yours? xxx

Wicked Winter Read-a-thon – Info

You read as much as you can in order to get yourself a little further through that huge to-read pile! We know real life gets in the way and even if you can’t participate more than one day, you’re welcome to join in on the fun!

In the meanwhile, Bex and April (and everyone who decides to sign up as a challenge host) will be hosting book-related challenges where you can win some awesome prizes and have a Twitter party at the hashtag #WWReadathon! You can posts updates on your blog, Twitter, Goodreads or Facebook — as long as the profile is public and we all can enjoy your reading progress! For this edition, the girls have also planned a chat surprise in order to include those who aren’t on Twitter in some chatting fun.
