When her neighbor’s fifteen-year-old nephew goes missing, Sonia is the last person that anyone would ever suspect. At forty-three, she is a strikingly attractive wife and mother. And like the River House, her lovely home overlooking the Thames, Sonia’s life is a picture of perfection and normalcy—until she meets Jez. From the moment he shows up on Sonia’s doorstep, the gorgeous teenage boy awakens a torrent of memories that she has worked a lifetime to forget. Drawn to Jez by a compulsion that she scarcely understands, Sonia takes him captive—prepared to sacrifice everything to keep him. Evocative of thrillers by Chevy Stevens and Sophie Hannah, Kept in the Dark is a haunting debut novel about obsession, desire, and the potential darkness in us all.

Why I can’t wait:
Okay. What the bloody hell is going on in this woman’s head? I’m seriously super excited about this one! It sounds like a really dark kind of thriller, something that keeps you reading until 2 in the morning. And you know how much I love those books, don’t you? ;) DEFINITELY waiting for this one.

When Nicole Castro, the most beautiful girl in her wealthy New Jersey high school, is splashed with acid on the left side of her perfect face, the whole world takes notice. But quiet loner Jay Nazarro does more than that—he decides to find out who did it. Jay understands how it feels to be treated like a freak, and he also has a secret: He’s a brilliant hacker. But the deeper he digs, the more danger he’s in—and the more he falls for Nicole. Too bad everyone is turning into a suspect, including Nicole herself.

Why I can’t wait: I just LOVE bittersweet but still optimistic stories. Nicole reminded me of Katie Piper whose story (I think) is truly amazing. Burning Blue sounds quite mysterious and you know how much I adore mystery. OCTOBER, PLEASE HURRY UPPPPP.

“Before you write me off as some kind of messed-up delusional psycho, think about what it’s like to be thrown into a situation where everyone knows everyone…and no one knows you.” Sadie needs a plan when she starts at Plainfield High School, and she comes up with a good one . . . or so she thinks. But while it seems like a no brainer to pull off a fake peanut allergy, in reality it’s a lot harder than it looks. There’s the school health form that needs to be filled out by your mom (who you haven’t told about the scam). Then there’s your mom wanting to meet your friends-what if she serves them snacks? (Peanut butter sandwich, anyone?) And what about that bake sale, when your homeroom teacher thinks you accidentally ate a brownie filled with peanuts?

Why I can’t wait: I’ve first seen this title on Edelweiss and what made me stop and read through the synopsis was – I’m not going to lie- the cover. I mean… how funny that is?! I love stunning covers but sometimes simple ones like this stand out more. If I saw this in a bookstore, I’d definitely stop and pick it up to see what’s it about. I think it sounds like a fun YA novel – I just wish I didn’t have to wait until 2013!

Kaye Whiting went to buy a birthday present and didn’t come back. When DC Goodhew hears the recording of the mysterious call made to the station, informing them that Kaye is still alive and that a man named Peter Walsh is responsible, he knows it’s more than a prank call. Why does Mr. Walsh not seem surprised to see Goodhew at his doorstep, and who is the woman who goes to the same diner every day, just so she can watch Mr. Walsh walk out of his building with his new lover?

Why I can’t wait:
I’ve noticed The Calling on the publisher’s website last month and I fell in love with it right away. It’s the third book in the DC Goodhew series, something that I’m not familiar with, so I’ll make a mental note to check this series out. Judging by the description, I don’t think I’d have any problems with the story and I’m pretty sure it can be read in any order, but who knows? Haha.

Has anyone read this series yet? What are you waiting on this week? Make sure to leave me a link below! :)
