Books, Biscuits, and Tea is 1 year old!

1-Year Blogoversary

Hello everyone! I’ve some great news on this grey and rainy morning: as of today, Books, Biscuits, and Tea is officially 1 year old! This week I’m going to be posting about some of my blogging highs and lows, some of my favourite books and  bookish highlights and I’ve a fun interview planned as well. If you have some time then feel free to grab a cuppa tea and a slice of cake and join the celebrations!

When I started blogging in last September, I had no idea what I signed up for. I stumbled upon someone’s blog one day and started thinking about what a great idea it was. Most of my friends don’t like reading as much as I do and those who do read have quite a different taste, so I was desperate for a place where I could meet like-minded people and talk about books without being labelled as a nerd. Still, I wasn’t sure if I should give it a try or not, and even if I did, how long would I manage to keep it up. Well, in the end I did sign up and I never looked back. There were some highs as well as lows but I enjoyed every minute of it. :)

But all this wouldn’t have happened without you guys. Your encouragement, all your lovely comments and feedback, and the fact that you take the time to read my bookish ramblings mean an awful lot to me – thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you for sticking with me in the past 12 months, encouraging me when I wasn’t feeling well and being such fun!

Also, I’d like to say a massive thanks to some of my fellow bloggers who have been with me from the very beginning and who have become my bookish best friends:

Nat from Besotted with Books
Celine from Nyx Book Reviews
and Bex from Kindle Fever

And an enormous thanks to all of you for the hundreds of comments, letters and all the feedback. Many, many thanks to:

Melissa from Melissa’s Eclectic Bookshelf
Kimba from Kimba The Caffeinated Book Reviewer
Juhina and Farah from Maji Bookshelf
Hannah from Once Upon a Time
Dani from Pen to Paper
Jenny from Chocolate Chunky Munkie
from The Book Galaxy
Marie from Ramblings of a Daydreamer
Tiffany from Book Cover Justice
Henrietta from Leisure Reads
Kristilyn from Reading in Winter
Kelsey from Kelsey’s Cluttered Bookshelf
Daphne from Winged Reviews
Sam from Realm of Fiction
Carly from Fiction Fascination
Kat from The Aussie Zombie
Pragya from Reviewing Shelf
Mel from Mel’s Random Reviews
Theta Sigma from Resolution Corner
Sally from Always Lost in Stories
Marina from Chick Library Cat
Karin from Life of Karin
Mel from The Daily Prophecy
Veronica from Mostly Reviews
Jasprit and Rachel from The Readers Den
Katja from YA’s the Word
Sana from Artsy Musings of a Bibliophile

and all of you who took the time to read my posts, left me some comment love or got in touch. We’d spend the rest of our lives reading this post if I mentioned everyone but I really appreciate all your support! ♥ Without you and your encouragement running Books, Biscuits, and Tea wouldn’t be as much fun as it is and I really can’t thank you enough.

To celebrate this one-year milestone, I’m giving one lucky follower his/her book of choice (up to $10) from The Book Depository. The giveaway is of course open internationally, as long as TBD ships to your country. Just fill in the Rafflecopter below for your chance to win – and best of luck! Now grab a plate and a cup of tea and let the celebrations begin! :)

    Happy Blogoversary, Vicky!

I love all your bookish ramblings and reviews. Also love the RCC challenge that you do! And the chatting with you on Twitter, be it RCC or Bout of Books. Gosh, I am nostalgic already! 😉

Aww, thank you so much for mentioning me in there, it must have taken a lot of time, jogging your brain to remember and write all those names. You’re so sweet.

Hope you have an amazing day and cheers to the blogging in the year ahead! 😀

Woot woot, I am on the mentions!!! :)
I am just making the post for my blogoversary and thought I should drop by and wish your blog a happy birthday! I need to say that you are one of the few reviewers I follow closely that reviews a lot of not YA books and whenever I feel like I need to read something different, I come here for recommendations. I had already picked up 3 books just from your reviews that I wouldn’t even know they excisted otherwise.
    Keep up the awesome work!

Oh, you’re so sweet, thank you so much! Yeah, it’s actually funny because most people I know via blogging or Twitter read YA books (well, mostly YA). And even though I like to mix things up a bit and I read both YA and adult books, I think I’ll always prefer the adult ones – and it’s good to know that people (like you :)) actually do care and even if these books are not books you’d normally pick up, you still read my reviews. Thank you! *hugs*
