Bloggiesta Spring 2014 – Goals

Bloggiesta 2014

Bloggiesta is back! If you haven’t seen my Bloggiesta posts some time last year and are wondering what it is exactly, it’s a blogging marathon between 27 and 30 March, 2014 revolving around ticking off those items on your to-do list and improving your blog while in the good company of other awesome bloggers doing the same thing.” Basically, four days of blogging and improving your blog (or writing those reviews you were supposed to finish weeks ago) in the virtual company of many other bloggers. It’s fun and it’s a great way to catch up on blogging tasks you’ve been meaning to do for a while.

I haven’t had as much time for my blog as I would have wanted recently so I decided to dedicate this weekend to Bloggiesta and FINALLY getting back on track.

My goals for this year’s Bloggiesta:

  • write all my unwritten reviews (about 3, I think)
  • update my contact and about me page
  • comment on other blogs
  • schedule blog posts for the next two weeks. That should give me some time to catch up on reading!
  • put together a media kit
  • come up with discussion and/or new feature ideas
  • try and think about a new blog template. I’m thinking about giving my blog a new look – not a complete makeover (I really like the colours and my header), just a new template maybe.
  • make my blog mobile friendly
  • participate in at least one Twitter chat

If you’d like to join the fun (you should!), you still have time to sign up here.

If you already have, what are your goals?

  1. Good luck Vicky :)
You only have 3 unwritten reviews? Would you like some of mine? :D

I have a lot more, don’t worry :D – but I’m not counting those which I’ve read months ago and which were my own books. :D I read the entire Hunger Games trilogy around Christmas time, for example. Miranda’s book sometime in September… But I know I wouldn’t remember them as clearly as I did back then so I just won’t bother. Not yet, anyway. (I might have to re-read them at some point)

  2. Great ideas :)
I’ve been taking part in a few Twitter discussions lately – they’re pretty hectic but so much fun!

  3. Is this usually the time of the year this is held? I think I’d like to participate next year. I need to do think about what I need to accomplish for the week allotted. :) Also, I need to take some vacation days to make it happen. Otherwise, I will fail, I just know it.

    Good luck, Vicky!

  4. I need to catch up on my reviews too, but I have way more than three! Lucky girl! I’d love to be two weeks ahead, so maybe I’ll add that goal to my to-do list (and the list keeps growing and growing…) Have fun!

  5. I am so glad you posted about this because I didn’t realize this started today and I really need to participate. I am also in awe of only 3 reviews to catch up on. I won’t even name the number I need to do!

I think that is a fantastic idea. The idea of constant upkeep and constant improvement of my blog is daunting. But a wham, bam, thank you, ma’am spring cleaning approach is a fantastic idea.

If my blog is 25% better in the next week, it’s because of you.

    Thank you, Vicky

I’ll be unofficially joining in for tomorrow :) I’m designating the day to write a bunch of mini reviews for books that I read before I started my blog. I think I have around 50 books that I want to write reviews for. Oh.My.Goodness.

This is such a good idea :3 I am a serial list maker and putting things in that form helps me work so much!

I have a lot of reviews that need bringing over from Goodreads and my old blog!

ps what do you mean by a media kit? :) xxx

I will! I still need to put mine together but once I figure out how to do it, I’ll let you all know. I’ll also do a tutorial on how to make your blog mobile-friendly. :)

  11. oh you reminded me of a couple things I need to add to my goals for this weekend ~ the media kit and ensuring my blog is mobile friendly….my list gets longer the more blogs I comment on who are participating in Bloggiesta. . .does that happen to you too?

    btw, your design is gorgeous!
